"Decent deals, but the site makes it way more annoying than it should be"
I’ll give Chirpbooks credit for having decent deals and a easy layout at first, but the site itself is frustrating. I can usually find what I’m looking for, and checkout didn’t completely fall apart, but the pages are slow and moving around the site feels clunky for no good reason. It’s annoying because this should be simple, and instead they make browsing feel like a chore. The search filters also need work badly. Overall, it’s not terrible, but Chirpbooks really needs to fix the basic site experience.

"Great deals when promos pop up"
I mostly use Chirp when they’re running a promo, because some of the audiobook prices are seriously hard to beat. A couple bucks for a good book?? Yes please. The selection isn’t always amazing, and I don’t always find the exact titles I’m looking for, but I’ve still picked up a few really good ones for cheap. The app works fine for me overall. If they had a bigger library, I’d probably give it 5 stars.

I mostly use Chirp on my phone, and overall it’s been really easy to get the hang of. Downloading audiobooks is simple, and I like that playback usually picks up right where I left off. Every now and then it takes an extra second to load or sync, but it’s not a big deal and hasn’t really bothered me. I’m happy with it.

"Good deal, mildly annoying checkout"
I bought an audiobook on chirpbooks.com because the price was actually good, so hey, credit where it’s due. The checkout did work eventually, which is always a thrilling modern achievement, but it was a little clunky on my phone. The payment page didn’t load right the first time, so I had to go back and try again. Super fun. I did get my purchase in the end and nothing major went wrong, but the whole process could definitely be quicker and a lot clearer.

"Fine overall, but the narration was just okay"
I went in assuming the narration would really pull me in, but it ended up being just fine. It wasn’t bad or anything, just kind of average and not especially memorable. I could still listen through it, but I kept feeling like it could’ve had a bit more energy or personality.

I was feeling optimistic when I tried it out, but the compatibility ended up being a bit mixed. Some things worked just fine, while others didn’t connect or run as smoothly as I expected. It’s not a total dealbreaker, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind depending on what you plan to use it with

"Reliable enough for my daily drives"
I mostly use Chirp in the car, it’s been dependable for me. The audio usually picks up right where I left off, which I really appreciate when I’m getting in and out throughout the day. It also hasn’t been freezing on me much. There was one time it got a little stuck loading after I lost signal, but once I closed the app and opened it again, it was fine. I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, but from my experience, it works well enough that I keep coming back to it.

"I did eventually get my refund…"
I did eventually get my refund, so that part worked out, but the store credit took a bit longer to show up than I expected. Support was okay overall, not amazing but not terrible either. Maybe I’m just being impatient, but I feel like store credit should appear a little faster, right?

"Not worth the stress"
I tried Chirp once and just didn’t feel good about the whole experience. Everything felt kind of unclear, and I wasn’t confident my account or purchase was being handled properly. It ended up throwing off my plans because I had to spend time worrying about whether things were actually okay instead of just moving on with my day. Maybe other people have had better luck, but I wouldn’t use them again.

"Downloads Actually Worked Fast"
I bought a few audiobooks and, surprisingly, they downloaded quickly. No random errors, no sitting there wondering if the app had given up on life, which was nice for a change. They opened in the app without any drama too. Overall, it was easy enough and didn’t waste my time, so that’s appreciated.

"I feel kind of stupid for trusting…"
I feel kind of stupid for trusting the hype around these audiobook deals. Some of them do look cheap at first, but a lot were the same price or even higher than what I found elsewhere. I was expecting better discounts, so it was disappointing. Not the worst experience, just really meh.

I was, like, surprised how easy it was to search and find audiobooks I actually wanted. The results came up fast, and I ended up spotting some cheaper ones too, so yeah, it worked out well for me.

"Frustrating Login and Loading Issues"
Not gonna lie, this has been frustrating. I keep having trouble logging in, and even when I finally get in, my audiobook sometimes won’t load. Support took a while to respond, and I just wanted to listen to something I already paid for.

"Good library, but settings took me a minute"
The library itself is solid and I’ve been able to find what I need most of the time. I will say the account settings confused me a bit in a few spots, but maybe that’s just because I expected everything to be laid out a certain way. Once I clicked around for a while, it made more sense. Overall, it’s okay and I’d still use it.

I had a small issue where my audiobook wasn’t showing up right away, which was a little annoying. So I messaged support, and quicker than I expected they got back to me. They fixed it without making some huge deal out of it, which I appreciated. happy I was with how easy it ended up being.

"Easy audiobook deals without a subscription"
I’ve picked up a few audiobooks from Chirp now, and it’s been super straightforward. What I like most is that there’s no subscription to deal with, I just buy a book when I see a good price. It’s nice not having to worry about using credits in time or remembering to cancel anything. The app has worked well for me too, so overall it’s been a really practical way to get audiobooks without extra hassle.

"Downloaded books still don’t work offline"
Am I missing something here? I downloaded my books expecting to listen offline, but they still won’t play when I don’t have a connection. That kind of defeats the whole point of downloading them
